Upon arrival, the team began by stabilizing the structure and assessing the damage across the affected areas. They promptly removed the damaged materials, including portions of the ceiling and walls on the first floor, and set up dehumidifiers and air movers to dry out the remaining moisture from the fire department’s efforts. The PDQ crew worked diligently to clear out all fire-damaged materials while ensuring proper ventilation and air quality in the home. The entire restoration process at Sid's Mountain Lakes, NJ, home took about seven days, and was handled through his insurance company, leaving Sid only responsible for his deductible. Thanks to PDQ, the home was fully stabilized and prepared for rebuild, with all fire and water damage mitigated.

A professional crew came in to inspect the scene. A plumber was brought in to fix the leaky pipe which was the only source of water leaking. After, all surrounding water was extracted. Then containment was set up in the basement. Fans and dehumidifiers were set up to dry out any water that was left. At the end everything in the affected area was cleaned and all equipment was carefully removed.

When we got to Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, we discovered it wasn't a broken pipe in the bathroom, but the toilet had overflowed, causing damage to that bathroom and the dining room & kitchen & family room below, plus the finished basement below that. We boxed up all the content that was not damaged in the affected areas. We placed air scrubbers, air filters and dehumidifiers throughout the house. We used drying mats to remove moisture from their hardwood floors. We removed all damaged, drywall, ceiling and tiles. We removed the wet rug in the basement. The customer was pleased we were able to work directly with their insurance company, American Family Connect Property & Casualty Insurance Co.
