Our Soot Cleaning Process
The air in your home after a fire will be extremely unhealthy and unfortunately due to the soot, the average consumer or even commercial cleaner will not have the tools or experience to safely clean your home or business. Our trained technicians know how to make the house and air safe again.
- We always start in the “source room” (the area where the fire occurred) and then move to additional areas of the home that have been affected.
- Proper PPE must be worn while performing the cleanup or anytime in the home until the soot is removed.
- We use commercial HEPA air scrubbers on each floor to help filter the particulate matter out of the air. Our machines process a minimum of 800 CFM (cubic feet per minute) of filtered airflow. This results in approximately 8-10 air exchanges per hour.
- We also utilize hydroxyl generators to help to deodorize and sanitize the air. These often require additional air movers to spread the hydroxyls around to each room.
