Why did the customer contact us?
Amanda reached out to PDQ Restoration after a broken pipe caused extensive water damage in her basement in Lake Hopatcong, NJ. The burst pipe led to significant flooding, leaving the basement floors soaked and water seeping into the walls. Amanda discovered that the water had quickly spread throughout the basement, saturating the floors and causing visible damage to the walls. Given the severity of the flooding, she was concerned about the structural impact and the potential for mold growth. Amanda urgently requested PDQ's professional assistance to address the water damage.
Solutions provided:
Upon arriving at Amanda’s home in Lake Hopatcong, PDQ Restoration's technicians quickly assessed the extent of the damage and began by extracting the standing water from the basement using advanced water extraction equipment. To effectively dry the space and prevent further damage, the team set up a drying chamber to contain and concentrate the drying efforts. They also performed flood cuts, removing the lower sections of the drywall to facilitate thorough drying and prevent moisture from spreading. High-capacity fans and dehumidifiers were placed strategically within the drying chamber to reduce humidity levels and expedite the drying process. This comprehensive approach was essential to restore Amanda’s basement to a safe and dry condition, mitigating further damage and preparing the area for necessary repairs.
