Why did the customer contact us?

Nick from Summit, NJ called PDQ Restoration after his hot water leaked in his basement. He told PDQ that it is a finished basement with drywall and carpet. The entire basement felt very humid and the walls felt moist to the touch. There was also standing water in the unfinished portion of the basement. Nick was worried about mold growing on the insulation in his walls. He was also worried about saving the carpet as it was very wet.

When PDQ Restoration arrived at the house in Summit, NJ the first thing to do was to stabilize the property. This involved extracting all of the standing water in the basement to prevent further water damage. Then equipment was placed to begin the drying process such as fans, dehumidifers, and HEPA air filters. These were placed strategically in wet and damp spots. Afterwards PDQ Restoration came to the house in Summit daily to monitor the drying process until completion.
