Why did the customer contact us?
Tim from Verona, NJ called PDQ Restoration regarding a dryer fire that took place in his basement. The fire was put out by the fire department which also resulted in water damage. The fire had spread visible soot throughout the basement and results in soot cob webs. The odor had also spread throughout the house and smoke damage could be found in all of the bedrooms. Tim asked PDQ to send out a truck to his home in Verona ASAP.
Solutions provided:
When PDQ arrived the first thing to do was to stabilize the house and make sure Tim was not staying in his house in Verona until it was restored. To stabilize PDQ placed fans, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers throughout the house. Then the water was extracted from the fire department. Afterwards the PDQ Contents Division came to clean and begin storage of damaged contents / newly cleaned contents. Throughout this process all PDQ employees were proper PPE and face masks to make sure to be safe from all soot / smoke damage.
