PDQ Restoration arrived promptly at Owain's home and started by extracting the standing water from the basement using high-powered pumps. To tackle the remaining moisture, the team set up industrial dehumidifiers and air movers to lower the humidity levels and ensure thorough drying. They also inspected the walls and flooring to check for any hidden damp spots that could lead to long-term damage if untreated. During the process, PDQ performed regular moisture checks to confirm that the basement was drying effectively. Once the space was completely moisture-free, they applied antimicrobial treatments to prevent mold growth. The restoration work took five days, with Owain’s insurance covering most of the cost, leaving him responsible only for the deductible. Thanks to PDQ’s swift action, Owain’s basement was fully dried and safe for use again, with no lingering humidity issues.

When our Team arrived in Oakland, New Jersey, they inspected the damage and went over the course of action to restore the home properly. Our IICRC-certified technicians set up the drying equipment; high-velocity air movers, commercial dehumidifiers, HEPA air scrubbers and hydroxyls. They sealed off the affected area, packed up their unaffected content and moved it to a dry area of their home. They removed, bagged and disposed of affected materials. We visited their home each day to look after the drying process. It took 3 days to dry. The Client was thrilled that we could work and bill their insurance company, Progressive Insurance directly. They were only out-of-pocket, their deductible.
