Location: Flanders, NJ
Why did the customer contact us?
The homeowner from Flanders, NJ had a fire in the basement, causing extensive damage to the floor and walls of the unfinished part of the basement, laundry room and a finished part containing a bedroom. There was a strong odor of smoke and soot throughout the home. There was no electricity since the electric panel was destroyed.
Solutions provided:
The PDQ team removed all the damaged sheetrock and moved contents from the basement into the garage of the home in Flanders, New Jersey. Severely damaged items were placed into multiple dumpsters.
Wrapped the floors, foyer, walls, ceiling, boiler, water heaters, receptacles and switches. Discovered insulated vents that needed to have the insulation removed.
Removed the carpeting from the basement bedroom. We set up a generator, Air Scrubber, Hydroxyl Unit, Fan and cleaning supplies.
HEPA vacuumed downstairs family room, bathroom, and downstairs bathroom, including molding and ceiling.
A positive asbestos reading came back from the basement flooring, so the flooring was removed. Soot damage was remediated and equipment stayed on site until there was no odor remaining from the fire.
